Simple Mills Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookie Product Review

Simple Mills Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookie

Do you ever watch your kids eat something and deep down inside you just want to eat it all for yourself? This is that for me. You all know how much I love cookies. You should also know that I’m a soft cookie kind of person. I mean, I’ll take a crunchy cookie if I have to, but at the end of the day, it’s all about a soft baked cookie. Simple Mills has produced crunchy cookies for years, and I’ve been known to gamble and take bite here and there. However, their latest round of cookies are SOFT BAKED! I was star struck when I first saw them and went straight for the label. Eggs. Why. Shed a tear for me, OK?

The eggs didn’t stop me from making the purchase though because we have a Low/No Sugar kid. Simple Mills has been a great brand for him. I will say, their facility does contain allergens, so be sure to read the statements on their website. Link to FAQ AreaLink to current pdf (link may expire)

Kid Three: The texture was soft as advertised, so kudos to them. When it comes to taste, it tasted like snickerdoodle, but it tasted off somehow. It doesn’t taste quite like a proper snickerdoodle, but I can’t say why.

I also sampled the Soft Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie from Simple Mills and I had the same problem. It didn’t quite taste right.

Overall, I like the softness of these cookies, but generally I am not a fan of these cookies.

My Thoughts:

Sometimes I think I’ve ruined Karlton and the kids for other companies. They’re so use to very gourmet, small batch baked goods. With that in mind, it’s very rare that we find a baked good that they feel compares to what they normally have access to. My guess is, if you’re adapted to eating low/no sugar, you’re going to love these cookies. And if I could, I’d TOTALLY try them.
