Now that the summer months are coming to a close, I’m sure you’ll see fruit leathers available from some of your favorite vendors at your local farmer’s market. If not, my heart aches for you. In our area, there’s a safe farm that sells peach leather, but I so cannot tolerate it. I want to believe that I can. I can’t. It’s OK to cry for me this time. On the flip side, there’s a farm that sells safe for me nectarines, and I seem to do OK with them. We’ve been buying organic nectarines 10 pounds at a time for all sorts of fun and today I’ll be sharing our new nectarine fruit leather recipe with you.
I will say this: if you can eat store bought items like these AND you’re not into DIY food projects, skip this recipe. I can honestly say that this recipe is a labor of time and love. It’s nether time nor cost effective (unless you’re in a similar boat to mine).
Interestingly, the kids LOVED this top 8 free fruit leather, even our kid who hates cooked fruit. The Papa loved it too. Honestly, I just love it when I make something for me, then have to worry they’re going to eat it all… inclusion mission accomplished.
