Heavenly Organics Chocolate Patties Review

Heavenly Organics Chocolate Patties by The Allergy Chef

Did you see The Good Chocolate review yet? This chocolate treat was also in the piñata I spoke of previously. We’ve called Heavenly Organics and confirmed that the equipment used is in fact free from wheat and dairy.

Heavenly Organics Double Dark Chocolate Patties

The Papa: This is the memory of a York Peppermint Patty. There’s no peppermint, but the honey kind of mimics the inside of a peppermint patty.

Kid Two: Mmmmmmm. Mmmmmm. This is pretty good. They’re kind of sweet for dark chocolate. I was expecting it to be more bitter. There is a bit of a bitter after taste. When I bite into the patty, there’s a fresh feeling from the filling.

Kid Three: These are pretty cool looking. Kind of excited to try them. (takes a bite) I don’t really like this. It’s not that it’s bitter, it just has a weird taste somewhere in there. One time, I accidentally ate moldy bread. This reminds me of that. (another tiny bite). Oh yeah! It reminds me of that bread.

While it may be a little hard to make out, I LOVE that they have the facility statement on the label here.

Heavenly Organics Peanut Chocolate Honey Patties

The Papa: I’m not really excited about this. After having a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, this is… meh at best. It’s a reminder of Reese’s, and if you can’t have the conventional products, this is close. The Justin’s brand may be a good option too. Compared to The Good Chocolate, this one isn’t as smooth and I prefer those.

Kid Two: Mmmm. This is much more thick. I was expecting honey for some reason, but it’s not. This is very good. It’s a tad bit too salty for me maybe. Somewhere in here there’s a clashing flavor. I can taste the chocolate and peanut butter mixing, but there’s something else there… oh… now I think I’m tasting the honey.

Kid Three: Ugh! The aftertaste is absolutely gross. Now, I’m not going to type anything else he said. He got a little mean and I happen to like this company.

Kid Four: It tastes like crayons. It has a nice texture and is kind of chewy in a good way. I know what the clashing is! (in reference to Kid Two) It’s also in a Reese’s… The peanut butter has a certain amount of sweet and the chocolate has a certain amount of sweet, and somehow they clash. Also, it smells like crayons too. (Don’t worry, there was a discussion about why she knows the taste of crayons)
