So Delicious Oat Milk Ice Cream Product Review

So Delicious Oat Milk Ice Cream by The Allergy Chef

I thought I’d put quotes around ice cream today since there’s a lot of buzz about free-from foods being misleading as of late. Honestly, I don’t agree with the sentiment.

I absolutely love the brand So Delicious, and truly appreciate how forthcoming they are on the allergen statement on all of their products. While we don’t purchase them regularly due to shared equipment, we wanted to sample these new oat based products.

I should also add, to date, there hasn’t been any gluten free (or Purity Protocol) oats used in any commercial oat milk or oat milk ice cream. I’ve asked each company, and none of them are using certified gluten free oats.

So Delicious Oat Milk Apple Crumble Frozen Dessert “Ice Cream”

Kid Two: Mmmmmmm. This tastes like apple pie has been mixed INTO the ice cream. I’m also tasting the cinnamon. Oh!! And here’s some caramel. Ohuu. This may be an apple piece… this is amazing. I didn’t have high hopes for this ice cream, but this is much better than I thought it would be.

Kid Four: This tastes like apple, and like oatmeal. I’m not a huge fan, but I also don’t mind it. There’s a lot of ingredients… Also, it smells like coconut.

So Delicious Oatmeal Cookie Frozen Dessert “Ice Cream”

Kid Two: I love oatmeal cookies, so I really hope this lives up to my expectations. Also looks like there are little bits of chocolate. (takes a bite) Seems like because of the hints of chocolate, I’m tasting a chocolate oatmeal cookie, but that’s not how this is labeled. I feel like it’s not an oatmeal cookie. It actually tastes like the Caramel ice cream, with bits of chocolate… and it’s an oat milk ice cream. I do like this though. In fact, you better take it before I have any more.

Kid Four: Hmmm. It smells like a cookie… like a cold cookie. It tastes like oats. Oh! It tastes like really fancy oats. It’s actually nice. I like it.
