Sample Letter: Asking a Preschool or Daycare to Take All Allergens Seriously

A Letter for Preschools and Daycares Regarding Food Allergies by The Allergy Chef

This sample letter is based on a case where a preschool took peanut allergies seriously, but not others. Parents were allowed to bring in treats for birthday parties, and that’s really where the problem arose.

In this letter, we show you how to point out that one (or several) allergens are being treated seriously whilst others are ignored.

The letter will request that all allergens be taken seriously, and also provides alternatives and allergy friendly treats parents can purchase.

When you open the PDF, you’ll see that some words/phrases are highlighted in yellow. These are where you can change the text to meet your needs. Additionally, this whole letter can be tweaked to meet your needs.

Our hope is that with the framework in place, it will be easier for you to make this request at your child’s school. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
