Banana Chocolate Chip Ice Cream by The Allergy Chef

Are you the type that sees ripening bananas and thinks to make banana bread? I know folks that are, but I’m the type to make ice cream instead. With ripening bananas on the table that I didn’t want to see wasted, I decided to make the kids a simple and tasty, dairy free banana ice cream.

What I love about my ice cream recipes is that they’re also vegan friendly (remember how I’m always going on about the language we use in the food allergy and special/restricted diet world?) The vegans have coined a phrase- NiceCream. I like it 🙂 So let’s get to making Banana NiceCream.

This recipe, like all of the other ice cream recipes on RAISE, this recipe uses an ice cream machine with a built in compressor. There are several other ways to ice cream. Use the method that you’re most comfortable with. I’ve settled with an ice cream machine with a compressor because I’ve found it to be the best way to get consistent free-from results.
