I don’t know about you guys, but I really don’t like it when allergy friendly, special diet friendly, and gluten free products read like science experiments. In fact, that’s why most of our recipes are usually from scratch. Sadly, vegan meat alternatives are no different. Now, there are a few new comers to the market that are changing this, and I am really rooting for them.
In my opinion, plant based should not mean lab based. With that in mind, I set out to create something that would mimic meat without being meat, would be soy free, and would taste delicious. Friends, I am happy to report that it’s happened! We’ve created a vegan pulled pork (porque) recipe that behaves like traditional pork. It has a meaty mouth feel, and all the right flavors.
