Let’s Talk About the Vio Life Cheese for a Moment
I have to say, the label is misleading in my opinion. It clearly says nut free on the front of the package, however, this product contains coconut. Now, there’s totally a division in the food world on the classification of coconut. However, the FDA has spoken. From where I’m standing, if you’re claiming something is nut free on the label, it means that you’re including coconut as per the FDA.
Even though I’m a bit put off by the labeling, I really love that there are only a handful of ingredients that you can totally pronounce: Filtered Water, Coconut Oil, Potato Starch, Sea Salt, Glucono Delta Lactone, Flavor (vegan sources), Olive Extract, Vitamin B12.
If you can’t do coconut, potato, or nuts, you’ll have to skip the feta topping on this recipe. Additionally, one of the steps of their product creation uses shared equipment with dairy. Follow Your Heart now makes a dairy free feta cheese that may be a better fir for you.
