Gather round for another No Whey Chocolates review! There’s so much to love about this brand, mainly that they’re trying SO HARD to serve the free-from community well. They’re clearly thinking about the needs and wants of kids & adults and trying to deliver.
Like all of their other products, this cookie/bar was made in a GF, top 8/9 free dedicated facility. Now, let’s take a look at their birthday cake cookie/bar.
The Papa: Upon first bite, he wasn’t sure what this was, and what it was supposed to be. Is it a cookie? Whatever it is, it’s pretty good. I’d eat it. I wouldn’t order it because I don’t need the extra calories, but if you order it, I’d eat it.
It IS really good, but it is also sugar. I’m sure that’s part of the reason it tastes this good. The outside coating is very sweet and has the birthday cake flavour combined with white chocolate. Inside, it’s like a bar, but also chewy. Overall, it’s good, and it definitely says birthday cake.
Kid Two: I think I may like this better than the Rule Breaker (Birthday Cake Flavour Cookie).
STOP THE PRESS DID YOU READ THAT?! If you’ve been here for a while, you know that’s his all time favourite purchased cookie.
K2 Continues: It does have a slight synthetic taste, but it’s very forgiveable. There are also some dry notes, but I’m not going to complain. I really like it.
Kid Four: Smells like frosting! It’s hard to cut, so maybe this will be harder than I expect? It tastes like white chocolate, with hints of frosting, and there are nutty notes even though there’s nut nots. It is sugar though, so I know that’s part of why it’s so good.
Even though it was hard to cut, it’s soft. I think the hardness came from the outer coating.
