Today I’ll be sharing thoughts on why it’s important to vote with your dollars. I was at a “traditional” grocery store recently and saw packages that were clearly targeting children. I read a few labels and was truly heart broken.
Don’t misunderstand me though: I have NOTHING against fun kid food. I think all kids should have it now and again. What I’m against is the proliferation of ingredients that we know can cause harm in the long run.
Organic and non-GMO style companies have already proven that fun food for kids can be made with better-for-you ingredients. I’m upset that these ingredients cost a premium and aren’t available to all children, as they should be.
I have the same feelings about transparency and ingredients where food allergies are concerned. Everyone deserves clean food and transparency… even if it is a pop tart.
