This recipe has done nothing but shock me. I made it on a whim to create a better variation of foods available when sending one of the kids off with a freezer full of food. The end result: said child reported that this was THE BEST thing I sent.
I proceed to list off all their other favourite foods that were sent and you know what this kid tells me? “This dish is so good that I’m rationing it out to make sure I can eat it at least once a week whilst I’m gone.”
You guys. Rationing a meal because it tastes so good? And then! Since getting back, I’ve been asked for this recipe at least five different times. They’ve never done that before.
I share all of that to say this: MAKE THIS ONE. Perhaps I should change the name to Life Changing Pasta since it’s so good 🙂

Do I Need a Dutch Oven?
For this particular recipe, I’m going to say mostly yes. If you have a large, oven safe, heavy duty pot, then you can use that.
Do I Need Cream Cheese?
To make the recipe as I did, yes, you will need cream cheese. However, I also know that not everyone has a safe option. I’ve included notes below on a cream cheese work around for you.
