Another delicious waffle recipe? Yes Please! I’ve been making a lot of waffles around here lately, and I’ll tell you why: The kids weren’t eating breakfast. Even though the house was full of food they could make, they weren’t.
They were rolling out of bed just in the nick of time, like teenagers do, and opting to skip breakfast. Then during the school day I was hearing about how hungry everyone was, and their focus was lacking.
The solution: waffle batter. My kids LOVE waffles, but most refuse to eat them if I make them the night before (#firstworldproblems). They want fresh waffles only… (pretend there’s an eye rolling emoji here). I asked them what they would be willing to do, and they were all too happy to make the waffles, if the batter was in the fridge. Cue a trip to the grocery store.
Savings Tip
Amazon wanted $20 for the Pyrex bowl I picked up at Rainbow Grocery for $7.99. Be sure to check local stores before Amazon on items like these.
I purchased 3 large Pyrex bowls with lids, and now make three big batches of waffle batter on Sundays. The kids get to choose daily what they want, and some even combine flavors. I’m happy to say that they’re all eating breakfast again.
