So far, all of the gums on the market that I’ve seen made with better-for-you ingredients haven’t been a classic bubble gum. Tree Hugger has decided to tackle the problem and I’m glad they did. Not only is this gluten free gum tasty (so I’ve been told) but they also have a wonderful allergen statement on their package. It’s that kind of care that makes me happy.
Also, if you like this brand, they have a range of gums available on their website.

Kid Two: At first, the gum is bland and has no flavor. However, it tastes better the longer you chew. There’s also a nice coolness (I think he means in a mint/refreshing sort of way). This gum also has a nice softness, unlike some other gums we’ve had before.
Kid Four: This is Good! I also agree with most of what Kid Two said. I’d totally spend my own money on this gum. I’d also like you to know that when I handed out extra pieces of gum after sampling, Kid Four was very sad that she didn’t get as many pieces as Kid Two (uneven leftovers).
About that money comment: Sometimes, in order to gauge how much the kids like something, I’ll ask them if they’re willing to eat a case. Other times, I ask if they’re willing to spend their own hard earned money on it. Those two questions usually get them to really think about how much they like a product.
The Papa: I love it. That’s good stuff.
I also asked them if they could really blow bubbles with this gum. It took a few minutes of chewing and trying, but they were able. The picture of The Papa is a big bubble. Kid Four was able to produce bubbles about half the size, and Kid Two struggled to produce bubbles in general. In his defense, he doesn’t chew a lot of gum.
Kid Three wants you to know that he wishes he could sample, but isn’t able with his braces.
