Today we’re sharing a quick review of Virgil’s Zero Sugar soda. Kid Two loves the regular Virgil’s Cream Soda, and when I saw this on sale, I figured it was worth a try. I know there are more flavors available in this line, but it’s not available in the stores we frequent.
If you know the story of Kid Three, you know I’m always on the hunt for low/no sugar products that will help him feel normal. He really struggles with his restrictions, even though he knows it’s what his body needs. It’s also why we own a Soda Stream.
Virgil’s Zero Sugar Vanilla Cream Soda Review
Kid Two: You know, this may taste better than regular root beer (this is a HUGE deal from him). I agree with Kid Three that it’s like a watered down version of Virgil’s regular cream soda, but I would totally drink this.
Note: He did in fact go on to drink most of the cans.
Kid Three: eehhhhh, it kiiinnda tastes like cream soda. I think there’s too much vanilla in this for me. It’s almost like a watered down version of cream soda. I may like this brand/product in a different flavor.
Note: I thought this meant he didn’t like it. I bought a 6 pack on sale, and he asked for a can later in the week.
Kid Four: I love it! It tastes like candy. (she was bummed later in the week when all the cans were gone)
My Thoughts
The ingredients on this product were OK. Not as simple/clean if we were to make soda at home. For the sake of drinking something out of a can or having it to take to parties, I think this is a great option. I’ll also say, it’s nice that there are so many better-for-you treats on the market these days.
