Gather round, for I am SO excited to show you how to make this holiday cake. Now, I’m not going to sugar coat it (har har), but this particular cake has a lot of parts you’ll need before hand. The actual decorating isn’t difficult, just requires a good amount of your time in my opinion.
To make things easier on yourself, I strongly recommend baking your cake and getting it into the freezer. Whilst the cake is in the oven, make your frostings and put it in containers. That’s it for day one. On day two, do the chocolate work. You can assemble on day two, or on day three.
Anytime I’m taking on a large cake project, it’s not uncommon for me to break it up like this. It just makes the final assembly feel a lot more manageable.
Before We Assemble, You’re Going to Need:
- Bakery Cranberry Orange Cake
- Bakery Cranberry Orange Cardamom Frosting
- Faux Oreo Buttercream Frosting (optional)
- Chocolate Cookie Crumbs
- Tempered Chocolate (I’ll show you how to pipe it into trees)
