Today I’ll briefly talk about ingredients commonly found in packaged. free-from foods. Also, a little PSA: meat substitutes commonly contain major allergens (usually wheat and soy).

I like to remind people that just because it’s gluten free (or free from), doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Yet, it’s also important to remember that manufactures are responding to consumer demand. When you know what wheat bread is supposed to taste and feel like, you want your gluten free bread to do the same. Inherently, it doesn’t. Therefore, companies have to use quite a few ingredients to even get close. Yet it’s those same ingredients that leave some consumers asking for a cleaner product.
